*UPDATE*
Ok, so I received an e-mail response back from the website, and after reading over all the bullshit automatic response, I found this section:
SO, it seems to me that they DO respect our right to our copyrighted artworks somewhat, but at this point in time, I can't really find a way to shut down the website. In other words, they're saying that they're not a mediator, and really it's whoever uses our images on this website that are doing the big no-no.
So while I would have liked to have seen this website shut down, it's not entirely a 'website,' as much as it is just an extension of Google Search Images, with a lineart function. It is pretty much just GSI with javascript giving you the option to colour it, which is exactly the same as some art theif searching for something in images, saving it to their computer, and opening MS paint to draw in it. I didn't think of it this way before, and I hate to say it, but it pretty much means there is crap all I can do about it.If anyone else has any ideas, throw them at me, otherwise I'm just going to keep an eye on the website for the next 6 months and make sure nothing horrible comes out of it...
Thanks for everyone who took the time to read the journal. ^^
Sorry that I couldn't have a more positive outlook to end this... >.>" Believe me, I wish I could.
Take care all,
-Ashe
Ok guys, sorry to be the bearer of bad news today, but honestly this affects EVERYONE on DA. And believe me I mean everyone (Even me! o: )
So a lot of you people might not know about this, but I just found out that there is a whole website dedicated to being an online colouring book made out of anything on the internet! So I tried it, thinking my shitty art wouldn't be on there, and low and behold MY ART WAS ON THERE. And not just that, but people who have drawn me things before, that came up too!! So pretty much, ANYTHING ON THE INTERNET CAN BE COLOURED ON THIS WEBSITE.
THIS IS THE WEBSITE IN QUESTION. GO TYPE YOUR USERNAME IN AND SEE WHAT COMES UP
--> hippopaint.fidsah.org/
I am now sending an e-mail to the address given, in the hopes that I can ask nicely enough for this person to rethink this idea.
I would be fine with it if they had asked everyone first, but since they CLEARLY DID NOT ASK ANYONE, they get the shit end about it. I noticed each image gives credit to where the image came from, by saying "this came from *insert webpage here* and may be subject to copyright" but honestly that's not good enough. If they throw my e-mail back in my face, I'm going to google about it.
IF ANYONE ELSE WOULD LIKE TO E-MAIL THEM PLEASE DO IT IT MIGHT HELP.
THIS IS THEIR E-MAIL ADDRESS --> fidsah@gmail.com
If everyone can PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD ON TUMBLR/FACEBOOK/HERE ON DA OR WHEREVER JUST PLEASE HELP ME GET RID OF THIS IT ISN'T COOL.
Thank you, sorry to offload this on everyone, but since we're pretty much all on there, it's our business to know about it.
Once again, thanks all, Hopefully the next journal will be about how we shut this down

Ok, so I received an e-mail response back from the website, and after reading over all the bullshit automatic response, I found this section:
"We recognize that copyright is important to some content creators on the internet, and we fully agree. This is why when you download an image, we provide a link to where you downloaded the image you've selected from, and let you know that the image may be copyrighted. We fully recommend that you contact the creator of the image that you've painted to find out if you can have permission to use their work before saving a copy of it online, like to Facebook or Google+. If you save a copy of their work, you may be violating copyright law.
If you are a content creator that has believes your artwork is on this site and are worried that your copyright might be being infringed, we have good news for you. Your copyright is perfectly safe. You have simply done a Google Images search on yourself and have found a link back to your own site where your artwork is hosted. We don't host any of the images, and we make sure that we direct our users to your site and let them know that your work might be copyrighted. All the painting is done by the user on their PC, and our servers do not have access to your art, or to the Google Images search terms the users may be entering. Our servers only provide a link to Google Images and a small amount of Javascript that allows users to color pictures. We recognize the importance of protecting your digital work, and to that extent, we do not have any method to provide digital copies of our users paintings to them."
SO, it seems to me that they DO respect our right to our copyrighted artworks somewhat, but at this point in time, I can't really find a way to shut down the website. In other words, they're saying that they're not a mediator, and really it's whoever uses our images on this website that are doing the big no-no.

Game survey for 13 yo Girls- CLOSED AND FINISHED
Hey DA, long time no journal! How is everyone going? Anyone else drowning in uni work, or are you free?
EDIT: The survey is now closed, and we have some good results! Thanks guys! <3
Long story short, one of my subjects at uni requires some research to create our games, and our group has decided to try and make a game aimed directly at 13 year old adolescent girls! We want to make something young girls would enjoy, without all the 'designer' DS style games that was something a lot of us only had for 'girl games' growing up. We want to make something better, and designed more towards adventuerous play.
We have a survey open, and what wou

And so begins the year of inactivity
Hey all! Ashe here~
Just got a quick little update journal on what's happening to me this year, art-wise and life-wise.
So for those of you wondering, I'm moving places this week, so the chances of me having internet access are going to be really low, and actually, it's going to be like this for most of the year. You see, I'm starting uni this year, and it's going to be very important to me, and of course uni will always come first, before things like social media, and after uni comes work/ a job, which I need to get to pay for food and important stuff. I'm sure most of you older people out there know what I'm talking about.
So yeah, this

I checked and thankfully it's only some really old shit of mine.
Maybe as prevention don't type lineart or colour me in the keyword box,
because I think that's where they are getting these from. Not the best
solution, but it might help in other situations.
