Description

Something I spent about a week working on on and off. I've been playing Shadow the Hedgehog a lot more recently, (trying to clock up all those 326 story endings!) and I ended up visiting Cryptic Castle a lot. Got me thinking, 'damn, I should have some more background practice with some Shadow levels!' I threw the idea around on tumblr, didn't really get a response, so decided to flip straight into CC.
Honestly, I think I could have arranged the towers a bit better; the sketch looked good, but I realised when I was colouring it it wasn't popping out as much. But then again, it IS a Shadow level; they never really pop out. Very dark and monotone in places. The good thing about this was the sky; been able to put all those pinks and yellows in there~

I would like to spend more time working on picking out details from some of Shadow's levels, but I'm incredibly lazy when left alone so it's up to you guys! Would anyone like to see more works like this that focus on the background level designs? Please feel free to comment with a suggestion! Tell me your favourite level and why it's your favourite! Help inspire this lazy hedgie xD
I find amongst my favourite Shadow levels is Lava Shelter; I love how crazy everything gets, with the lava rising, Omega giving us his sassy little lines, and not to mention one of my favourite music tracks
